New Lincoln Sculpture Exhibition

President Lincoln’s Cottage opened a new exhibition called “ A Deep and Subtle Expression: Lincoln in Sculpture - Works from National Trust Collections” on July 4th. The Exhibition will close on December 19th 2008.

The Exhibition was compiled from collections of various National Trust Historic sites, and it explores the attempts of Sculptors and manufactures to convey the spirit of Lincoln in there work.

Among other pieces of interest there is a cast of Lincolns hands by L.W. Volk which I find extremely intriguing - the hands and the eyes of a person (in my opinion) are the reflections and and representatives of a persons soul, and I often think that the hands tell a lot about a person - and I am not taking about palmistry….. thought that could be another aspect of interest, to those who believe in it…
