Nicolas Zeis died "as a soldier in Pittsburgh PA February 19 1865 according to his headstone. I have not been able to find him listed on any rosters. Is there a reason why would he be there?

possible he was in a hospital there,died from wounds,or disease or whatever. does cemetary have info or maybe lucky to find old pittsburg newspaper with a mention.once i saw a skirmish listed for a town in maryland i knew coundnt be true,i knew mans regiment he was in,lucky for me the regt history book mentioned that a drunken soldier had started a fight with another soldier over a horse race-man was killed hence dyers compeduim thought a skirmish had occurred-i dont know if i helped any but keep looking try national archives or pennysvania state library.do you know his regiment?was he a guard at the arsenal there that blew up in 1863-sometimes it took awhile for wounds to kill a man-good luck
