hello, first poster here.

I normally collect ww2 German items but I got in two rifles that are in pretty decent shape.

1st is a 1856 TOWER and the other a 1870 Enfield.

The Tower is pretty neat since it looks like it has unit marks. I dont know much about the civil war but I read that the south bought Tower rifle before and during the war??

THis one has STAMPS all over it and stamped into the wood is:

15 NI
112
41
D
10

What the heck does that all mean??

As I looked over this nice conditioned musket I see that most every metal part has a stamp of some kind on it.

Is that standard?

thanks Chris
