He died after being shot accidentally by his own men. Doctors in those days prescribed bed rest. In his case it gave him pneumonia and caused his death.

How unfortunate that he didn't just get up and walk around.

I believe he had one daughter, but I don't think he lived to see her.

It was another daughter but, the only surviving daughter whom he named Julia was alive however, due to his beliefs the father and daughter reunion came but, it was short lived because he died.
